A recent post on the Geo Developers Blog announced a new course designed to teach developers the best practices when using Google’s web APIs.
The offering is a collaboration with online course provider Udacity, and it aims to draw on the vast experience of the Google Maps Operations team to teach students how to work with maps and location data. The free Google Maps APIs course offers step-by-step tutorials demonstrating how to integrate maps and location features into websites, as well as how to retrieve location-related data via Web Service APIs. Students will also learn how to secure and monitor their deployment using the Google API Console.
The course includes a walk through of building a real-estate listings site with street view panoramas, data visualisations, and a uniquely styled Google map. Followers will also get to develop location-related features such as viewing places of interest data, and calculating the distance between locations.
Whether you are new to Google Maps APIs or are just a little rusty, the course will prepare you for creating your own projects that leverage location data, services, and maps.
